Candente's directors and management have a track record in the discovery and development of copper, gold and silver deposits.

Candente was co-founded in 1997 by Joanne Freeze and Fredy Huanqui after their involvement in the discovery of the Pierina deposit in Peru. Candente completed an Initial Public Offering on the TSX-Venture Exchange in May 2000 and later graduated to the Toronto Stock Exchange in November 2004. The Company later listed on the Bolsa de Valores de Lima (Lima Stock Exchange) in February 2007.

Candente has several copper, gold, and silver properties in Peru and one in Mexico. The Company's focus is Cañariaco, a copper deposit in northern Peru where drilling and feasibility studies are underway to expand the deposit and advance it to production by 2012.
